Cookies are files which are transferred to your computer’s hard disk by a website. Cookies can store information about your preferences and other information which you need when you visit a website. The Credit Union uses cookies to monitor our website traffic, to ensure better service levels and in order to provide you with certain features such as the customised delivery of certain information. To prevent the use of cookies you should activate the facility which is available in most web browsers that enables a user to deny or accept cookies. This will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.

Statistical and analytical information collected through the standard operation of our internet servers and logs provides us with general and not individually specific information. The Credit Union will make no attempt to identify individual users, or to associate any technical information collected with any individual user.

We currently make use of the following cookie on our website:

__utma (Google Analytics)

This cookie is used by Google Analytics to track of the number of times a visitor has been to the site pertaining to the cookie, when their first visit was, and when their last visit occurred. Google Analytics uses the information from this cookie to calculate things like new sessions/visits

__utmb and __utmc (Google Analytics)

These cookies work together to calculate how long a visit takes. __utmb takes a timestamp of the exact moment in time when a visitor enters a site, while __utmc takes a timestamp of the exact moment in time when a visitor leaves a site. __utmb expires at the end of the session. __utmc waits 30 minutes, and then it expires. __utmc has no way of knowing when a user closes their browser or leaves a website, so it waits 30 minutes for another pageview to happen, and if it doesn’t, it expires.

__utmz (Google Analytics)

This cookie keeps track of where the visitor came from, what search engine you used, what link was clicked on, what keyword was used, and where they were in the world when you accessed a website. It expires in 15,768,000 seconds – or, in 6 months. This is how Google Analytics knows to whom and to what source / medium / keyword to assign the credit for a goal conversion or an e-commerce transaction.

__utmt (Google Analytics)

This cookie is used to throttle the request rate for the service – limiting the collection of data on high traffic sites.
